Delaware North are looking for a highly organised and enthusiastic Kitchen and Cleaning Operations Manager to take on the role of Chief Kitchen Steward at Marvel Stadium. We are looking for an individual with exceptional commercial cleaning standards to join our leadership team, and build and lead a loyal and energetic back of house stewarding team.

Marvel Stadium is one of Melbourne’s most iconic stadiums. Every year, more than two million patrons pass through the Marvel Stadium turnstiles, which is home to numerous AFL teams including the Carlton Football Club. 

About the role:

This position will be responsible for building and leading a strong team of kitchen stewards who work to maintain the cleanliness of all food & beverage production areas and outlets. We are looking for a dedicated individual who takes pride in their work and is able to lead and motivate a diligent team who are passionate and proud about the critical role they play within the operation.  

Duties will include:

  • Management of the stewarding department rosters, ensuring compliance with modern award and working right restrictions.
  • Providing thorough on the job training to new stewarding team members ensuring team members adhere to high standards set out.
  • Effectively supervise kitchen stewards during rostered shifts with a hand-on approach.
  • Oversee the deep cleaning of multiple kitchens and back of house areas, ensuring all checklists and tasks are completed to the highest standards.
  • Ensure hygiene and WHS requirements are adhered to in line with correct processes.
  • Work safely with chemicals when required to assist with the cleaning process.


You will need:

  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in a similar role in a commercial kitchen environment or large stewarding department.
  • Understanding of Commercial Kitchen Equipment, Chemical Handling, Food Safety, HACCP and WHS requirements.
  • Good presentation, excellent communication skills.
  • High standards in grooming and personal presentation
  • Proven written and oral communication skills and sound computer literacy
  • Able to work a 7-day roster including morning and evening shifts, public holidays and weekends.
  • A Culinary leadership background will be highly regarded
