We have an exciting opportunity for a Kitchen Team Leader / Chef de Partie to join our dynamic culinary team. In this role, you will lead our kitchen brigade to produce an excellent standard of food quality and presentation; and ensure the kitchen and storage areas are kept in a clean and hygienic manner. We seek a team player with a profound love for cuisine, who thrives in a dynamic and fast-paced environment. 

Requirements

  • Experience supervising a team within a in high volume commercial kitchen, ensuring highly efficient service delivery to customers
  • Prepare and cook menu items according to guidelines and standards while managing cost targets.
  • Demonstrate a solid understanding HACCP and Food Safety standards
  • Cultivate and maintain professional relationships with internal departments and external suppliers
  • Fostering learning and development of staff, and maintain high motivation levels through effective leadership and communication
  • Ensure consistent delivery of quality products and service standards by staff
  • Plan menus, estimate food and labor costs, and place food supply orders
  • Collaborate with the Head Chef in establish, execute, and evaluate food service standards
  • Monitor dish quality throughout preparation and presentation stages
  • Address food preparation issues with managers, kitchen and waiting staff
  • Demonstrate techniques and provide advice on cooking procedures
  • Enforce and explain hygiene regulations
  • Flexibility to a work a variety of shifts over a 7 day a week roster including morning, days and nights


Ideal Candidate

  • Proficiency in menu development, inventory control and waste management
  • Creative and passionate about food and committed to delivering exceptional food service
  • Competence in using business technology such as stock control systems, spreadsheets, and accounting systems
  • Exceptional communication skills across all levels
  • A strong team player with the ability to mentor and develop our culinary team members
  • A positive attitude and the ability to excel under pressure
  • Understanding of food and labour cost, menu development
  • A proven background in ordering and inventory procedures including cost controls, and handling invoices

 

Qualifications

  • Certificate in Commercial Cookery Level 5, or equivalent
  • Food Safety Supervisor Certificate desired

Payrate

  • $26.39 p/h
